HRP Operations Manager

This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We wish to recruit a highly skilled and motivated HRP Operations Manager to join our HR and Payroll Shared Service team.  You will have strong service delivery leadership and will be responsible for delivering high quality HR transactional and Payroll services for multiple clients.

Ensuring we deliver an outstanding performance against our contractual SLA targets you will need experience of successfully implementing resource planning and managing business change to drive service improvement, championing automation.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • To take an active role in the provision of a professional, efficient and effective HR & payroll shared service ensuring that the services deliver effectively to contractual and KPI requirements across multiple clients.         
  • Support the transformation to a centric service solution.
  • Plan for and ensure deadlines are met for statutory returns and payments, including Payroll and Pension year end.
  • To ensure customer service and satisfaction remain a high priority at all times and be a key escalation point for stakeholders.
  • Supports leadership team to deliver Strategic HRP initiatives and projects.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of payroll services including approaches to delivering a modern payroll function through automation and self service functionality.
  • Support the onboarding and exiting of client contracts.
  • Introduce efficiencies and automation with a focus on digital by default culture, alongside service improvements and cost reductions.
  • Responsible for meeting the contractual requirements, reporting on performance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a specialist HR and Payroll team.
  • Ensure team members are managed within Liberata policy and procedures.
  • Support / Deputise for the Service Delivery Manager at meetings with the client.
  • Ensure handling of personnel data is compliant with GDPR.
  • Facilitate audit activities.
  • Develop and conduct quality checks where required to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure operational risks are identified and escalated.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct and document 121 performance review with direct reports.
  • Develop business continuity plans.
  • Ensure knowledge is kept up to speed in relation to Liberata and site policies and Statutory legislation.
  • To be fully conversant with computerised systems within the HR & Payroll department.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Educated to degree level or an equivalent level of experience.
  • Professional qualification or an equivalent level of experience. CIPP.
  • Experience of managing large HR and payroll services teams
  • Experience of managing outsourced services delivering to a multiple client portfolio.
  • Experience of working with Local Government Authorities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proven history of implementing process improvement and change management.
  • Sound commercial awareness with strong customer focus.
  • Management experience within a HR and Payroll department to include technical knowledge.
  • Experience\understanding in meeting service line targets.
  • An in-depth service delivery background .
  • Excellent management, coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Good planning and resource management skills.
  • Experience of Oracle and/or iTrent Payroll systems.
