Platform Property Care need an experienced Multi-Skill Trades Floor Layer based in Worcestershire and Herefordshire to help us maintain and improve our homes.

What will you be doing?

You will be supporting our Property Care Team ensuring our customer’s homes are maintained and repaired to a great standard.

From stripping out existing floors and laying vinyl or carpet to installing cap and cove wet rooms this role is varied and no day is the same. You will have strong attention to detail and leave a tidy professional finish to all your work. 

We want somebody who can:

A team player, you’ll be hard working and keen to learn with a can-do attitude. You’ll be working in people’s homes, so you’ll need to be friendly and approachable with good communication skills. You’ll also need to be organised and recognise the importance of delivering good customer service. 

We want somebody who has:

  • NVQ L2 Floor Laying and NVQ L2 Cap and Cove or good experience of Floor Laying
  • Experience preparing existing sub-floor timber or concrete 
  • Experience of laying self-levelling latex screed or plywood and can lay liquid/sheet DPM where applicable 
  • Worked in the social housing sector  
  • Experience of domestic maintenance 
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing and the ability to remove and re-fix internal doors to ensure the job is fully completed while on site 
  • You’d need to be able to trim kitchen plinths and fit
  • Need to be able to connect up dishwashers and washing machines post floor install
  • The ability to carry out a physically demanding role 
  • Good organisational skills 
  • Experience of keeping jobs on track 
  • The drive to ensure works are completed quickly and efficiently 
  • Full driving Licence
  • As you will be working within Customer’s homes this role requires a DBS check. 

This role is for a team based in the following towns so you will need to live close to or in these areas: Worcester/ Droitwich/ Malvern/ Ledbury/ Kidderminster
