We are currently recruiting a Roofer to join the Repairs & Maintenance team.
We are investing in and expanding our Property Maintenance Team and have a new and exciting opportunity for a qualified Roofer to join our Repairs team.
Our tenants are at the heart of what we do at Gentoo, therefore, providing an excellent customer service is paramount in this role. You will need to be a people person with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of teams, colleagues, and customers within Gentoo to ensure we deliver excellent customer service every time.
In this key role, you will be responsible for carrying out all responsive and planned roofing and slating duties required and all other roofing related duties including flat roofing works, gutter cleans and repairs.
You will have served a recognised craft apprenticeship in roofing or a City & Guilds Advanced Craft certificate in Roofing, Slating & Tiling or NVQ level 3 in Roofing, Slating or Tiling. You will have a thorough understanding of Health & Safety at work.
You will have a customer orientated approach to your work and a can-do attitude.
You should be able to demonstrate multi-skilling in the role and the competency to carry out minor non trade specific tasks, including minor bricklaying/pointing, and guttering repairs.
A full UK driving licence is essential:

You will be a fully qualified, time served roofer
Have a great work ethic with a right first-time approach to your work
Have great communication skills while working alongside colleagues and customers
Great problem solving skills with the ability to overcome difficult repairs.
Carry out quality work in a timely and efficient manner to a very high standard
Adhere to company Health & Safety policies and procedures
Experience of:
Experience of being able to carry out pitched roof replacements, repair works to slate & tile, plus flat roof repairs and replacement
Confident working from ladders and working at height from scaffolding
Soffit, fascia and gutter repairs.
High levels of site safety awareness
Full UK driving license
Experience using technology in your role for receiving jobs and ordering materials
Knowledge of:
Roofing materials and specification
Health and Safety
