Retail Assistant (two posts) - Fixed Term Contract to 31 March 2025

One 21 hour post to be worked on a 3-week rolling pattern (across all SMT sites)

 

One 12 hour post weekend only (primarily based at Kelham Island Museum)

About the Role

As a Retail Assistant, you’ll provide an exceptional customer experience across our retail spaces. You will maintain a good knowledge of products, merchandising standards and the city’s wider retail offer. You will also ensure public safety and the security of the retail stock, cash, collections and buildings too.

 

About You

The successful candidate will:

 

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all visitors within retail spaces
  • Engage with customers by proactively promoting sales and the upselling of products within the retail space
  • Process deliveries, damages, and general retail administration
  • Process cash and card transactions, including cashing up at the end of the day
  • Ensure that the retail space is restocked daily, and that shop presentation is maintained throughout the retail space
  • Take part in stocktakes throughout the year, including annual stocktake for year end
