We are recruiting for the role of Senior Analyst in our Analytics team who provide managers, staff and other stakeholders with critical information and advice.

Step into a pivotal role within the Cafcass Analytics team, where your expertise will drive the evolution and efficient execution of our business intelligence and reporting systems, aligning with Cafcass’s strategic objectives and supporting the dynamic needs of our stakeholders. Your significant contributions will be vital in shaping the future of data and analytics within our organisation and supporting a range of corporate development and innovation projects.

Collaborating closely with a diverse range of internal stakeholders, you will be key to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting Cafcass’s strategic ambition to ensure that ‘every child, everywhere and every time’ has an exceptional experience when Cafcass is involved in their lives. You will leverage analytics to enhance our processes and practice to better the experiences of children and their families accessing our services. Our recent Ofsted inspection report, referred to Cafcass data as “in another league” praising our “excellent performance management information systems” which “provide leaders with a comprehensive understanding of what the data is telling them”. 

Your expert-level understanding of Business Intelligence tools and technology will be instrumental in the design, configuration, and deployment of BI and visualisation tools, playing a senior role in advancing our analytical capabilities. In terms of what you can expect to be doing in this role, this is likely to include:

  • Analysing and generating insights arising from complex Cafcass data. Providing expert level analysis to clearly communicate the impact for Cafcass, the sector, and children and families. To be innovative and curious in investigating hypotheses, pursuing analysis, incorporating wider context, and monitoring ongoing impact, trend and risk.
  • Working with managers and appropriate experts to design and deliver analysis that drives operational improvement and professional challenge in the quality of services to children and families.
  • Ensuring Cafcass information requirements are identified, prioritised, analysed and implemented to timescales that meet the objectives of Cafcass’ programmes and projects.
  • Providing development level support to Cafcass’ Strategy Team, Operational Management Team (OMT) and the associated projects, including the provision of analytical support to strategic innovations programmes and projects, including support to management information, data requirements and assurance.
  • Supporting Cafcass’ systems and processes to meet the information needs of Cafcass and to provide a senior role in the development of new data management systems as required ensuring their integration and compatibility with other data systems across Cafcass.

… and what we’re looking for:

As a Senior Analyst, you will have:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Information Management, Computer Science, Systems Analysis or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
  • Substantial data analysis experience, working with large and complex statistical information. and interrogating database systems
  • Demonstrable experience in at least two technical disciplines (such as information architecture, application development, information analysis, database management or operational analytics)
  • Experience and knowledge of the Family Justice System and UK Children’s Social Care, or other healthcare/legal frameworks focussed on citizens accessing public services (desirable but not essential)
