This is a {Advertised Permanent / Temporary}, {Advertised Full Time / Part Time} vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We have an exciting new opportunity for an Energy Efficiency Lead who will work under the guidance of the Property Services Manager (Energy) and play a major role in delivering and coordinating Ocean Housing's energy investment programme. 

This programme will invest up to £52m between 2022 & 2050 to over 4,000 properties.

You will be ensuring our properties’ energy data is collected and accurately processed, producing effective and deliverable value for money programmes of work, procuring contractors and monitoring and reporting on the progress of contractors and sub-contractors delivering the energy programmes. You will ensure that all works are completed in a timely manner and within budget.

Responsibilities will also include:

  • Assisting the Energy Manager to upgrade all qualifying Ocean properties to an EPC ‘C’ rating by 2030 and to net-zero by 2050, in line with the Asset Management Strategy.
  • Ensuring all incoming EPC and energy data is accurate and uploaded to Ocean Housing’s database systems.
  • Analysing Ocean’s property energy data to produce programmes for major improvement works.
  • Carrying out Retrofit assessments and supporting the team as required by carrying out Reduced Data Standard Assessment Procedure surveys.
  • Carrying out inspections to determine work requirements, ensuring relevant reports and works orders are raised and works are progressed in line with specifications and time targets.

You will hold a degree in Building Surveying or equivalent along with a Retrofit Coordinator and Retrofit Assessor qualification plus, a qualification in Domestic Energy Assessment is also essential. 

You will also need to hold a full driving licence.

You will have significant experience of domestic energy assessment, experience advising on energy efficiency, environmental impact and sustainable construction and you will have a good understanding of current energy efficiency investment measures to social homes. You will have knowledge and experience of property management databases and be experienced in managing projects through to completion on budget and to schedule.

Having a good attention to detail and accuracy, seeing tasks through to a high-quality finish along with the ability to plan and produce programmes of energy works is essential. You will have good IT skills particularly in MS Office packages and computer aided design (CAD) and you will be commercially astute, striving to achieve best value in dealings with external customers and always presenting and conducting yourself in a confident and professional manner
