This is a 37 Hours per week, Temporary vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

Building Surveyor  

  • £39,465 per annum plus benefits.

  • Home based with regular travel to Magna Sites  
  • Access to a Company Works Van Provided. 
  • Following review in 2026, this initial 2-year fixed-term contract may present the opportunity for extension or long-term engagement with Magna, to support the development of our zero-carbon approach.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Surveyor within the Asset Investment department of Magna Housing, for an enthusiastic and committed individual.  You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that works in partnership with our colleagues, assisting in the development of survey programmes. You will interpret and analyse property data, alongside conducting stock condition, retrofit and redevelopment surveys to our homes.    

What you take care of & key responsibilities: 

  • To support the programmes maintenance projects and be responsible for the delivery of, through to completion. To undertake comprehensive surveys of our assets, to collect and record data related to the current condition and future replacement needs of the building elements. 
  • Lead and manage multiple investment projects (including customer engagement) using effective project, contract, and budget management, ensuring all works meet our quality performance measures. 
  • Ensure that all tasks are carefully considered, clearly defined, and documented across all aspect of your work, whilst maintaining regular customer contact and feedback, to promote optimum customer satisfaction levels. 

What you need to be successful:  

  • You will have a HND or equivalent in a construction related discipline, with a mathematical mindset with excellent communication, numeracy, and interpersonal skills.  
  • You need to be organised, logical and capable of concise and accurate work, together with a proficient level of IT comprehension.  
  • You will have excellent knowledge of Building Regulations and experience of construction from inception to completion.  
  • It would be advantageous to hold Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor Certification, although training will be provided to assist in obtaining it if you do not currently have this. 

This post is subject to a Basic Level Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
