The Vacancy

HMS are recruiting General Construction Operative to join an integrated team for the delivery of a first-class construction and maintenance service.

 

This is an important role in which you will:

  • Carry out all types of General Construction activity both internally and externally.
  • Assist with the setup and preparation of construction sites, including erecting barriers and safety signage.
  • Carry out manual tasks such as digging trenches, mixing concrete, and moving materials.
  • Support tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, plumbers, electricians) with their tasks as directed.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, ensuring that tools and equipment are stored properly.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, reporting any hazards or incidents to the site supervisor.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Carry out remedial works such as wallpaper stripping, and plaster removal.
  • Drive company vehicles.

 

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Hold CSCS card at appropriate level.
  • Hold a Full UK or EU driving license.
