Are you an enthusiastic Band 5 palliative and end of life care nurse looking to develop your teaching and clinical training skills then this exciting new post may be just for you?

 

This post provides an opportunity for a Band 5 Registered Nurse currently working within one of the hospice teams to work within the St Luke’s Education Team and under the guidance and direction of the Educator for Clinical Skills and End of Life Care to:

 

  • Deliver End of Life clinical skills training, provide supervision and carry out competency assessment within the classroom and practice-based setting.

 

  • Be involved in delivering education and training sessions to St Luke’s hospice staff and the wider health and social care communities as required.

 

Applicants will be required to have at least two years palliative and end of life care experience and need to be educated to degree level (or working towards). Experience with practice-based teaching /mentoring is also key (ward or community).

 

This is a 12-month part-time development post and could be undertaken on a secondment basis with the opportunity to return to your current position.  If you are currently working full time and want to retain your full-time hours, then you will be able to work 22.5 hours within the development post and continue to work 15 hours within your substantive role.
