This is an exciting opportunity to join our retail team and contribute to the income needs of the hospice in our Sugarmill, Plymouth store.

This is a large, fast-paced store situated on Billacombe Road Plymouth. The shop sells a wide variety of donated items with an emphasis on furniture, homeware and clothing.

We are looking for somebody who will take responsibility for every aspect of the shop’s operation, maximising sales and profit and driving consistent standards throughout. 

Through developing and maintaining excellent relationships with both customers and donors, you will be driven to achieve agreed sales and profit targets by maximising sales and controlling direct shop expenses.  The role also involves the ongoing recruitment and training of a motivated team of volunteers.

As a supportive team player, you will work cohesively with hospice staff and volunteers to positively promote the charity at any available opportunity.

You will ensure all aspects of shop management, including administration and banking, recruitment and management of volunteer staff & all health and safety requirements are adhered to. Previous retail or charity work experience is desirable, and an ability to demonstrate personal flexibility is essential.  The successful candidates will promote the work of the hospice.
