The Group Reward Team here at Aldermore deliver all Reward and Benefits activity for the Group from Reward strategy, design and delivery of our fixed and variable pay structures right through to developing a unique and competitive benefits package for our broad and diverse workforce. As a dual-regulated financial services firm, we are looking for an experienced reward regulation specialist, with an excellent understanding of the regulatory landscapes that a Tier Two Financial Services organisation navigates within.

The role holder will act as a key advisor to support with managing our reward structures and operations within the frameworks of our regulatory obligations and play a pivotal role in ensuring the Group Reward Team can stay abreast of any key changes coming down the line that may need to be considered in our remuneration activities. 

This will be an exciting opportunity for someone with a wealth of experience in reward regulation within the financial services industry to act as a subject matter expert, and use key experience and lessons learned to guide and influence a dynamic team to deliver an ambitious reward agenda.

What will your day look like?

You will be responsible for supporting the team with managing remuneration matters across the regulations that apply to the Group and its subsidiaries including CRD, the PRA Rulebook, and the FCA’s Handbook (SYSC). This will include:

  • Reporting and Governance:
    • Oversee the development and implementation of robust reporting mechanisms to track and analyse various aspects of the organisation's reward programs.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards related to reward reporting and disclosure.
  • RemCo Paper Writing and Support:
    • Lead the preparation and presentation of materials for the Remuneration Committee (RemCo), including papers on reward strategy, performance metrics, and executive compensation.
    • Provide support and guidance to senior management and RemCo members on reward-related matters.
  • Year-End Reporting:
    • Coordinate the preparation and submission of year-end reports, including Pillar 3 disclosures, annual reports, and high earner reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Analyse and interpret data to provide insights into reward trends and performance metrics for senior management and regulatory reporting purposes.
  • Sales Incentive Schemes:
    • Design, implement, and manage sales incentive programs aimed at motivating sales teams and driving business performance.
    • Collaborate with Sales and Finance teams to ensure alignment of sales incentive schemes with business objectives and financial targets.
  • Regulatory Experience:
    • Stay updated on relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to reward management, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Liaise with regulatory authorities and external auditors as needed to address inquiries and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Pro-actively keep the Reward team and senior management updated on all reg aspects, continually horizon scanning
  • Building Brand of Reward Team:
    • Proactively promote the value and capabilities of the Reward team within the organisation, fostering positive relationships and building credibility with key stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with internal communications and marketing teams to showcase the achievements and contributions of the Reward team through various channels.
  • Innovative Reward Strategies:
    • Drive innovation in the reward space by designing and implementing creative, forward-thinking approaches to reward programs.
    • Explore opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of reward processes.
  • Reward Cyclical activity and Projects

What do we expect from you?

  • Extensive experience in reward management or related roles, with a focus on reporting and governance.
  • Proven track record of writing RemCo papers
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and governance principles related to reward reporting and disclosure.
  • Experience in designing and managing sales incentive schemes, preferably within a corporate environment.
  • Exceptional Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate and analyse large datasets and create insightful visualizations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Creative thinking and innovative mindset, with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement new reward strategies and solutions
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and drive results in a fast-paced environments
