This is a {Advertised Permanent / Temporary}, {Advertised Full Time / Part Time} vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

Curo, a leading Housing Association based in Bath, is seeking an analytical individual to take on the role of Assurance Assistant.

Happy to talk flexible working, including some home working, but the successful candidate will be expected to work from our Bath office for at least three days a week.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be an integral part of delivering our new Strategy, by supporting the effective operation of our risk, policy and assurance frameworks. You’ll be providing high-quality reports on progress to senior leaders and working with colleagues across the business to make sure they get things done… properly.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include maintaining Curo’s risk registers; investigating issues and recommending actions to put things right; giving advice to colleagues about policy; and writing reports. It will be a fast-paced environment, with lots of deadlines - but you’ll work as part of the wider Governance, Strategy and Insight Directorate, where we all pitch in and help each other out as we need to.

Why Join Curo?

Curo is an organisation with social purpose at its heart. We provide affordable homes that help people find security and stability and a positive future. We’re one of the largest housing associations in the Southwest and an expanding house builder, using our profits to create more affordable housing in our communities.

We’re proud to say that since 2016 we have been ranked by Best Companies as being in the UK's top 75 Large Companies to work for. We're also listed in the top 10 best housing associations to work for in the country, and among the top 25 best companies to work for in the Southwest.

We embrace a values-driven culture that revolves around Care, Respect, Openness, Fairness, and Trust.

  • This means delivering exceptional customer service while treating all individuals warmly and honestly.
  • We value diversity, tailor services where possible, and maintain transparent, inclusive communication.
  • Our ethical commitment ensures consistency and decency in our treatment of others, even when challenges arise.
  • Trust is paramount, as we entrust our team, customers, colleagues, and partners to act with integrity and make decisions for the right reasons.

More about you

As our Assurance Assistant:

You’ll be friendly and approachable, with a ‘can do’ attitude. You’ll also be ruthlessly efficient and organised, and able to juggle lots of tasks.

You’ll have great attention to detail and be an excellent communicator: able to follow-up actions and reports to make sure we deliver our strategy. Ideally, you’ll have experience of risk and assurance work and/or project management and reporting.

You’ll be enthused by Curo’s mission ‘Homes for Good’ and really believe in what we do. At the same time you will demonstrate resilience and the desire to work in an interesting environment where no day is ever the same!

What you’ll get in return

We think you’ll have a job that makes you feel good about what you’re doing and help us to make a difference to our customers’ lives every day.

So in return for all your hard work, not only do our Assurance Assistant get a great salary but we also offer:

  • A day’s leave on your birthday
  • 26 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) rising to 29 after 3 years’ service
  • Company Pension contribution of up to 10%
  • Flexible Benefits including health care, gym membership, buying holiday
  • And participation in our annual Homes for Good reward (upto 5% of your annual salary).
  • ‘Perks at Work’ – access to 1000’s of discounts online and in-store.
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – providing friendly impartial advice on financial, health, work or mental wellbeing.
