This role is in our Third Party Administration Data Journey Team based in Edinburgh/ Glasgow/ Birmingham.

The Administration Consultant role will manage projects designed to meet regulatory requirements and client needs.  They will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of analysts using effective workflow management.  You will also have people manager responsibilities for the career development of the team’s analysts.   

The team’s current workload includes GMPE implementation, risk transfer data provision, benefit rectifications along with de-risking one off exercises such as trivial commutation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the team members to deliver their daily workload to meet our project consultancy priorities.
  • Managing a schedule of deliverables, prioritising work and ensuring team capacity is in place to deliver.
  • Meeting Service Level Agreements for individual clients. 
  • Principal point of contact for team members and project co-ordinator regarding clients.
  • Principal point of contact for team members on technical issues and non-standard cases.
  • Principal point of contact for the client and client team for the project deliverables.
  • Represent the team on project consultancy matters during Trustee meetings.
  • Finding ways to continuously improve workflows and practices. 
  • Ensuring accuracy, consistency, and the highest level of quality assurance.
  • Maintain chargeability targets, identify work outside agreed fee basis and prepare monthly fee invoices.

And you will be happy to:

  • Take the lead on very complex cases.
  • Deliver high quality, expert pensions administration project advice to clients.
  • Oversee Reviewer process in line with best practice guidance.
  • Report on progress and any risks to the Client Service Delivery Lead.
  • Provide technical guidance to the team as needed.
  • Undertake a modest amount of travel between Hymans’ UK offices.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding activities as required.
  • Look for opportunities to delegate work to others.
  • People Manage members of the team to encourage their career development.
  • Adhere to the firm’s Information Security standards, professionalism requirements, policies, procedures and compliance requirements.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in pensions operations, workflow management and service quality standards. 
  • Detailed and up to date knowledge of legislation relating to both DB and DC pension arrangements.
  • Experience of leading multiple projects with a collaborative, consultative approach.
  • Good knowledge of governance principles.
  • Relevant professional qualification such as Associate Membership to the Pension Management Institute, or equivalent experience.
