Newcastle College is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and qualified individual to join our team as a Teaching, Learning and Assessment Coach (Improvement and Enhancement). This role is an exciting chance to lead high-quality professional development, training, and coaching for our teaching staff and curriculum colleagues.

As part of our dynamic and successful teaching and learning team, you will:

  • Lead and deliver high-quality professional development programs.
  • Coach and support teaching staff and curriculum colleagues to enhance their teaching practices.
  • Drive improvements by researching and implementing new strategies to elevate educational standards.
  • Collaborate with teachers, their line managers, and a variety of stakeholders, ensuring positive relationships and effective communication.
  • Report to: Head of TLA (Improvement and Enhancement).

Candidate Requirements:

We are seeking highly motivated individuals with:

  • Proven experience in delivering effective and high-quality training programs.
  • Outstanding teaching or training abilities, with the communication skills to share this expertise effectively.
  • A strong record of implementing innovative ideas and strategies to enhance teaching practices.
  • Self-management skills, with the ability to balance workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in IT skills.

The candidate must be qualified to honours degree level (Level 6) or qualified to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe.  It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective- expertise in at least one provision type: FE, HE and / or Apprenticeships, and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.
