We have an exciting opportunity in our Building Safety Team for a Building Safety Officer on a fixed term basis, to support in the management of our high rise portfolio to ensure they meet with the new Building Safety Legislation.
The Building Safety Officer plays a vital role in ensuring that Stockport Homes’ high rise buildings remain safe and compliant by undertaking routine inspections, safety checks and working with the team to support the collation of vital customer information.
Working across the Stockport region you will be required to manage your own work schedule ensuring you work as part of the wider Building Safety Team to support, site visits, resident engagement events and gathering building safety data.
You will be required to work in an organised and methodical manner, with a focus on precision and detail to ensure systems are maintained accurately. The ability to work well under pressure and be self-motivated is essential, together with a positive and enthusiastic approach to customer service and team working. You will flexible, adaptable and have the ability to learn quickly.
Ideally you will have experience in customer facing role and a knowledge of building safety, health, safety and compliance within the social housing sector. Experience of using complex IT database systems is desirable and proficiency in Microsoft packages, such as Word, Excel and Outlook are essential.
A basic knowledge of fire safety principles is critical for the successful applicant, that is ideally supported by evidence of a qualification in this area. As the role will require travel between multiple sites a full UK driving licence is essential.

The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory basic clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
