As a Trainee Repairs Quantity Surveyor at Longhurst Group, you will be supporting the delivery teams in providing commercial management for our repairs and voids contracts. You’ll also be working closely with various stakeholders to ensure that applications for payment of work are accurate and in line with the conditions set out in the contracts. Further key responsibilities are listed below:

  • Evaluate applications for completed work received from service providers to ensure it is accurate and in line with the conditions of the contract.
  • Assist with the review of requests for approval of work from service providers before commencement on site to ensure the work is not delayed.
  • Support with the monitoring and implementation of the financial performance management process across all repairs and void contracts, including completing the end of year account.
  • Support with promoting the commercial perspective and value for money on all issues including monitoring and reporting compliance against agreed processes.

Our Trainee Repairs Quantity Surveyor role operates in a hybrid capacity, contracted to 36.25 hours per week. To us, this means a minimum of 1 day p/week spent in either our Rushden, Peterborough or Boston offices for collaboration with colleagues across the Group, with the remainder of the week working from home (subject to business needs - we are open to discussion around how this is built into working weeks). A large portion of our Asset and Property Services team also work in a hybrid nature, meeting in our different offices on occasionally for team meetings and training.
