The Vacancy

Inward Reinsurance Technician

Pro currently has some exciting opportunities for Inward Reinsurance Technicians to be part of our Outsourcing Operations team.

The role is permanent and will be in Pros UK office location in Gloucester and operates a hybrid working model. For the right experience we may be able to consider a fully remote role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities  

Undertake Technical Accounting responsibilities for Inward Proportional & Non Proportional treaties. Responsibilities include:

·        Processing Broker and Cedant technical accounts into Client system

·        Reviewing accuracy of accounts documentation and calculations, including complex accounts such as Sliding Scale Commission, Reinstatement Premium, Profit Commission, Premium and Loss Reserve Deposits

·        Processing claim and reserve updates for allocated accounts

·        Processing tasks/accounts accurately in an efficient manner by month end deadlines

·        Ensuring overdue/late accounts are followed up and escalated to Client’s management

·        Investigation and resolution of challenging accounts; identifying and following up missing accounts or miscalculations with Brokers or Cedants

·        Client reporting

 Skills and Experience

·        Strong technical skills and ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines

·        Understanding of principles of insurance and reinsurance is essential

·        3+ years’ experience in a similar role within the inward reinsurance market

·        Understanding of Proportional Treaty claim handling and event claims is desirable

·        Good understanding of Bureau systems and procedures is desirable

·        Knowledge of Property, Casualty, and Marine business classes desirable but not essential

·        Understanding of SAP (FSRI/FSCD) system is desirable but not essential

·        Excellent communication skills

·        Maintain a conscientious, positive and enthusiastic approach to work, maintaining good working relationships with colleagues
