Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support our finance department. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end processes, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Oversee debtor reporting ensuring targets are met, whilst providing support to the sales ledger team
- Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Produce monthly variance analysis and update commissioned hours reports.
- Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and reporting.
- Process and upload payroll and other month end journals
Requirements
- GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and written/spoken English; or similar standard
- AAT qualified or studying towards a relevant qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) Desirable
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
