A day in the life of an Ascent Qualified Synthetic Flying Instructor

As a Multi-Engine Qualified Synthetic Flying Instructor (ME QSFI) you will be part of a team of experienced military and civilian instructors delivering first class training to the next generation of military multi-engine pilots – a typical day will include 2 ‘events’ on the Daily Flying Programme. You will build relationships with stakeholders across all areas of the enterprise, particularly within Number 3 Flying Training School (3 FTS) at RAFC Cranwell. You will:

  • Deliver instruction across the military Multi-Engine Pilot Training (MEPT) syllabus in all Phenom Ground Based Training Equipment – Full Flight Simulator; Flight Training Device; Part Task Trainer.
  • Achieve and maintain a Central Flying School QSFI Category
  • Deliver Classroom-based instruction across the MEPT syllabus including Mass Briefs and Tutorials
  • Play a key role in Flight Safety actively engaging in the open and honest Safety Culture within Ascent and 3 FTS
  • Assist in the continuous development and improvement of all aspects of courseware and associated training materials.
  • Work in close partnership with our customer, and other stakeholders, to ensure that our programme requirements, dependencies and expectations are delivered on time, to quality and within budgeted cost.

  • Have the skills, knowledge and experience to undertake training culminating in the award of a Central Flying School QSFI Category
