A day in the life of an Ascent Operations Scheduler

This is an exciting opportunity for a Scheduler who is enthusiastic, has strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills to ensure the efficient scheduling of all training and resources on a busy UKMFTS training unit via a Training Management Information System (TMIS).

You will:

  • Uphold adherence to the Health, Safety & Environmental Polices and Air Safety responsibilities
  • Use TMIS to assist in the production of an optimised and integrated, flying and ground training schedule for UKMFTS RW flying training that incorporates a range of competing priorities, rules, regulations and resource constraints
  • Manage the delivery of the daily training schedule as part of the Operations Team, including reacting to last minute changes in resources, weather and priorities
  • Liaise with the Operations and Scheduling Manager to ensure that TMIS planning reflects UKMFTS forecast input/output dates and maintains appropriate training standards for personnel
  • Produce and analyse period statistics for onward distribution 

 


 

What will make you successful?

You will already have a breadth of experience working in an operations environment, working with high accuracy to tight deadlines. You will be able to navigate yourself across a range of stakeholders and have the ability to communicate strongly across a partnership.

You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment in which problem solving is key and understand the importance of attention to detail.

And you will also have:

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Computer fluency including Microsoft Office Suite, Windows and Explorer
  • Strong team player 
  • Experience of military and/or civilian flying operations
  • Ability to perform to the highest of standards with the minimum of direct supervision
