Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of learners while leading a talented team of educators? HMP Millsike is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Tutor to guide our team of five Work & Skills Tutors and deliver transformative education.

This is a unique opportunity to combine your leadership skills with hands-on teaching in a dynamic and impactful environment. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting tutors, ensuring high-quality education, and fostering a collaborative, learner-centred culture.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead & Support: Conduct one-to-ones, mentor tutors, and provide tailored guidance to help them excel in their roles.
  • Teach & Inspire: Deliver outstanding sessions that showcase best practices and inspire both learners and your team.
  • Drive Excellence: Monitor and enhance the quality of teaching, promote innovation, and champion continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate & Coach: Create a supportive space for sharing best practices and tackling challenges together.
  • Safeguard & Support: Ensure a safe, inclusive environment while promoting wellbeing for both tutors and learners.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A full teaching qualification (Level 5 or above) and experience in Work & Skills education, ideally up to Level 2.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor a team.
  • A passion for adaptive teaching strategies that meet diverse learner needs.
  • Experience in delivering education in challenging or secure settings is desirable but not essential.

Working Hours:
This is a full-time role, 38.5 hours per week, with the following schedule:

  • Four days per week: 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • One half-day per week: either 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM or 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM
