St Peter & St James Hospice is seeking a Head of Fundraising to drive our income generation strategy, ensuring we have the resources to continue delivering exceptional care and support to people affected by life-limiting illnesses. Salary: £51,288 - £55,499 per annum

What You'll Do:

  • Fundraising Leadership – Develop and implement a multi-channel fundraising strategy, ensuring a strong, sustainable pipeline of income from trusts, grants, corporate partnerships, major donors, and legacies.
  • Team Development – Lead, inspire, and mentor a high-performing fundraising team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Community & Corporate Engagement – Grow and maintain key relationships with businesses, major donors, and philanthropic supporters, securing long-term financial commitments.
  • Strategic Oversight & Compliance – Set and achieve ambitious income targets, monitor budgets, and ensure compliance with fundraising regulations, GDPR, and ethical best practices.
  • Marketing & Donor Communications – Work closely with the Marketing Team to create engaging campaigns, donor stewardship plans, and fundraising materials.
  • Innovation & Digital Fundraising – Drive digital transformation in fundraising, leveraging CRM systems, data analytics, and online campaigns.
  • Board & Financial Reporting – Provide regular strategic updates and financial reports to Trustees and Senior Leadership.

What we’re looking for:

To excel in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in leading fundraising teams and securing income across multiple streams (trusts, grants, corporate, major donors, legacies).
  • Strong leadership, budget management, and strategic planning experience.
  • A track record in building and managing partnerships that drive sustainable income growth.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with confidence in presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • A data-driven approach to fundraising, with a solid understanding of CRM systems and fundraising compliance.
  • Experience in digital fundraising, legacy giving, and community engagement (desirable).
  • A fundraising qualification (e.g. IoF Diploma) would be beneficial but not essential.
