We are looking for a Data Platform Administrator to be responsible for the configuration, management, and maintenance of Evri’s data platform infrastructure, ensuring that it operates smoothly, securely, and efficiently. Primarily working on our Databricks Common Data Platform.

You will be accountable for:

  • Data Platform Setup & Configuration: Configuring and maintaining the Databricks platform inline with best practice standards.
  • Platform Management: Managing the lifecycle of the data platform, including updates and performance optimization. Ensure that all components of the data platform are running efficiently and securely.
  • Data Integration & Pipelines: Collaborating with data engineers to build, monitor, and maintain data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and storing data in the platform. Integrating data from various sources, ensuring timely availability for analytics and reporting.
  • Security & Access Control: Supporting in the implementation and maintenance of security protocols, including data encryption, user access controls, and compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR). Ensuring secure access and usage of the data platform by various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery: Managing data backup and recovery processes to ensure data is safely backed up and recoverable in case of system failures or disasters. Implement disaster recovery strategies to minimize data loss and downtime.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Continuously monitoring platform performance, availability, and health. Proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, system issues, and errors. Troubleshooting and resolving any data platform issues that impact data availability or quality.
  • Optimization & Performance Tuning: Analysing platform performance and optimising esource usage, storage, and query performance. Ensuring the platform can scale efficiently as data volumes grow and user demands increase.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all aspects of the data platform, including architecture, configurations, and processes. Prepare regular reports on platform health, performance, and usage for management.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Working closely with data scientists, data analysts, and business units to understand data needs and ensure the platform is meeting their requirements. Collaborating with IT teams to ensure seamless integration with other internal systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Staying up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data platforms and management. Continuously evaluating new tools, technologies, and best practices to improve the platform’s efficiency, security, and scalability.

 

To be successful in this role you will require the following…

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in data engineering
  • Proficiency in Python programming, including PySpark
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience building ETL pipelines using SQL and Python
  • Experience with databricks is preferred
  • Familiarity with ETL orchestration tools
