Within this role, you will work as part of a team offering 24-hour care and support to children and young adults with visual impairment and complex needs within our residential houses in Edinburgh. 

You will work collaboratively with the multi-professional team within our care provision and colleagues across the organisation. This post involves shift working over the 24-hour period. Shift patterns include day and evening shifts, night shifts (awake) and night shifts (sleep overs).  

Applicants should have one, or more, of the following qualifications:

  • An HNC in Social Care and SVQ 3 (all eight units)
  • A qualification in nursing
  • Equivalent qualification suitable for registration with the SSSC / appropriate professional body

This post is subject to PVG Scheme Record/Update and NMC Registration. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team will be second nature to you as will your ability to adapt and respond positively to the unexpected. We provide 24-hour support, so we need you to be able to work shifts, including weekends
