Role Summary

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Information Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information management (IM), with proficiency in tools like PowerApps, ProjectWise, Asite, and SharePoint. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and secure management of project information across our projects, particularly in the water sector.

As a Senior Information Manager, you will provide leadership and guidance in managing information throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with industry standards, including ISO 19650. The ability to understand and address information security requirements and leverage modern technology to enhance information management practices is essential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 19650 standards for the organization, particularly in relation to BIM (Building Information Modelling) processes, project information protocols, and document control.
  • Oversee the management of project related information, ensuring its accuracy, accessibility, and security in accordance with project standards and industry best practices.
  • Provide strategic guidance on information management best practices to internal teams and clients.
  • Implement and manage information management systems and tools, such as PowerApps, ProjectWise, Asite, and SharePoint, to improve workflow efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Work closely with the digital team to ensure that information systems are integrated and optimised to support the efficient delivery of projects.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and support to junior team members and project staff on information management tools and processes.
  • Lead and manage the development of project specific information management strategies and plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data governance and data security measures are upheld in line with organisational and legal requirements.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging tools, and regulatory changes that impact information management in the engineering and water sectors.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, optimizing internal processes and systems to enhance information management capabilities.
  • To lead the IM function within the project; which will involve liaison with BIM, Document Control, Project Controls, HSW, and GIS teams.

 

Key Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • Proven experience (7+ years) in information management within the engineering, construction, or professional services sectors.
  • Proficiency in information management tools, including PowerApps, ProjectWise, Asite, and SharePoint.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 19650 and its application in the context of BIM and project information management.
  • Experience or strong understanding of information security principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Strong initiative, with the ability to work  collaboratively and independently and drive continuous improvements in information management practices.

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Information Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge or experience of DCO is a plus
  • Understanding of project control functions (e.g. cost, planning) and their relation to information management
  • Familiarity with data governance, risk management, and legal compliance in the context of project information.
