Join Close Brothers Cyber Security Team where you will be responsible for delivering and improving high quality cyber security technology designs and solutions.  Key stakeholders include the security operations team, technology teams, and Business Information Security Officers.

The Senior Cyber Security Engineer will be expected to be a subject matter expert in several key security technologies such as DLP, SIEM, PAM, EDR, WAF, Web proxies and email content security, firewalls, etc.  The role holder will be able to adapt their output to the ever-changing threat and business landscape, identifying, implementing, and maintaining best practice solutions that address both current and emerging information security and compliance requirements of the organisation.

The role holder must also help ensure that the Bank is responsibly addressing Cyber and IT security in accordance with both organisational best practice and regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Information Security (SCTY) – Level 3

  • Applies and maintains specific security controls as required by organisational policy and local risk assessments.
  • Communicates security risks and issues to business managers and others. Performs basic risk assessments for small information systems.

Software Configuration (PORT) – Level 5

  • Takes technical responsibility across all stages and iterations of configuration development and deployment.
  • Plans and drives software configuration activities. Adopts and adapts appropriate software configuration methods, tools, and techniques

Specialist Advice (TECH) – Level 5

  • Provides definitive and expert advice in their specialist area.
  • Actively maintains knowledge in one or more identifiable specialisms.

Risk Management (BURM) – Level 3

  • Undertakes basic risk management activities.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE/ARE:

  • Proven experience working in a security engineer role
  • Good knowledge of industry data security legislations and cyber security law
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues related to networking, performance and resource availability.
  • Proven experience working with cyber security tools such PAM, EDR, CASB, SIEM, DLP, Email filtering security and Vulnerability management.
  • Proven experience working with cloud providers, particularly Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of Azure services such Azure VMs, Entra ID, Azure App services and Azure components such VNets, NSGs, ALBs.
  • Experience in deploying and managing cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code (IaC) using CI/CD pipelines and automation using tools such Terraform and Gitlab.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practises.
  • Good skills in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell etc)
  • Excellent and up-to-date knowledge of IT infrastructure (hardware, databases, operating systems, networking devices etc) and cyber security controls around them
  • Professional cyber security advanced qualification(s) such as GCFE, GREM, GNFA, GCFA, GCIH

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:

  • Experience working in a Security Engineering team within the financial sector
  • Knowledge of payment systems and basic accounting within the Banking and Financial Services sectors
  • Excellent Understanding of Cybersecurity frameworks such NIST and CIS
