Are you a member of the Methodist Church in Britain seeking to use your skills, expertise and gifts? Do you have skills, proven ability and gifts in global mission contexts and strategic thinking to enhance the mission of the Church?

 

We are seeking a two new member of the Global Relationships Committee appointed for their expertise and experience, from 1 September 2025, for a period of 6 years.

 

About the Role

 

The Global Relationships Committee (GRC) is to advise and support the Connexional Secretary and the Connexional Team to oversee the implementation, development and monitoring of the strategy of expressing Our Calling through our Global Relationships, particularly through the annual planning, budget and review process of the Church. The GRC is embedded in the life, the work and structures of the Methodist Church. It plays a valuable role as a ‘bridging’ structure between the MCB, All We Can and other parts of the worldwide Methodist family.

 

The Global Relationships Committee reports to the Connexional Council via the Mission Committee, so that the Mission Committee can continue to oversee the strategic use of funds and vision for mission.

 

About You

We are looking for an experienced, committed person who has transferable skills, this individual will:

  • Have previous experience of serving on a church body.
  • Have an awareness of the variety of contexts that exist within the areas of global mission, development, aid and Methodism worldwide.
  • Have the ability and wisdom to confer about how the vision and policies for mission adopted by the Conference might be implemented in the Circuits and Districts.
  • Be a member in good standing of the Methodist Church in Britain

 

Expressions of interest are invited from lay and ordained members of the Methodist Church in Britain, and especially from people from ethnic minorities as they are currently under represented on the Committee. All applications will be assessed on merit.
