Julia’s House cares for babies, children and teenagers with life-shortening or life-threatening conditions across Dorset and Wiltshire. We provide support for the whole family - mums, dads, siblings and even grandparents.

Our shops across Dorset and Wiltshire help us to fund that support and we are looking for an experienced person to contribute to the smooth and effective running of the Julia’s House Retail premises ensuring that the buildings are maintained to a high standard and that the internal environment is constant and comfortable.

Reporting to the Facilities and Health & Safety Manager, you will liaise closely with the Retail Management Team and manage the schedule of daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance requirements, ensuring that all areas of the retail premises are maintained in a good standard of repair and decoration.  Also assist in the planning and implementation of all new retail premises shop fits and current retail premises refits.  You will also undertake audits of the retail H&S and Fire checks and maintain up to date maintenance and service records.

You will be proactive, highly organised and able to work independently using your own initiative, and be able to schedule maintenance work with minimal disruption to the operation of the shop and at any Julia’s House premises.  A full driving licence and use of a vehicle for business use are essential, although you will also have access to a company van.

If you are an experienced maintenance operative (e.g. plumber, electrician, carpenter) with a calm and helpful manner and have a sensitive, confidential approach to the work we do, we would like to hear from you.

Julia’s House is an award-winning children’s hospice charity dedicated to bringing comfort and care to families across the two counties.

Each family we support is unique and so is the care we provide. When a family finds out that their child has a very serious medical condition, which is life-limiting or life-threatening, their world falls apart. Julia’s House exists to help these children and their families.

To reach more children with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions and to set the gold standard in flexible, bespoke care that supports the whole family.

For local families of life-limited and life-threatened children to be able to access the help they need, when and where they need it and for every member of the family to feel supported, valued, cherished.
