Let us tell you a bit about the opportunity

Are you an experienced Head of Programme Delivery with exceptional leadership skills? We have an exciting opportunity to join our established Transformation function and lead our Group-wide delivery capability of Project Managers, Programme Managers and Delivery Leads. You’ll shape & develop our technology change delivery community, and drive excellence across our bank-wide Transformation function, ensuring we deliver real value through expert execution of change, innovative thinking, and seamless collaboration.

You’ll report into our Chief Transformation Officer and be empowered to lead in shaping and evolving a best-in-class programme delivery capability.  

What will your day look like?

•    Help to shape and develop this change community, growing relationships and engagement both within this pillar and across the other pillars within the Change and Transformation team.
•    Manage, mentor, and develop our Project managers, Programme managers and Delivery leads, fostering a high-performing and engaged community.
•    Identify and solve for capability gaps within this team through training, upskilling and knowledge sharing
•    Operating at a senior and strategic level, build deep and meaningful relationships with key stakeholders across the business ensuring strong alignment between the delivery teams and business priorities
•    While leading the function, you’ll still get stuck into the delivery of major change and transformation programmes, either directly within a key programme delivery role or indirectly through support being provided to the wider delivery community.
•    Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and new ways of working to enhance the execution of change, bringing experience and knowledge to the standards and frameworks in place

What do we expect from you?

•    A proven leader with experience managing and developing Programme Managers, Delivery Leads and PMs, and a real desire to shape and build communities around skills and experience
•    An expert in large-scale, complex technology change & transformation programmes – with broad experience including digital journeys, platform enhancements and data transformation
•    Someone who thrives on both strategic leadership and hands-on delivery
•    A collaborative and engaging communicator who can influence at all levels and can represent complex information appropriately to different audiences
•    Deep knowledge of best practices and methodologies (agile and waterfall), and an expansive toolbox of experience in this field with the ability to know when to use the right methodology for the right delivery 
•    Passion for driving continuous improvement and embedding a culture of excellence
•    Demonstrable understanding of risk with delivery/ execution and within the business, with solid expertise in governance and reporting
•    Ideally experienced working in Financial Services with a full appreciation of regulatory compliance needs.  A plus would be domain experience in one or several of the following areas; Mortgages, Asset Finance, Moto vehicle Finance, Invoice Finance, Savings, Treasury
