Grounds Maintenance Worker (Estates Services) – Creating Great Places to Live

Closing date: Tuesday 15th April 2025

Your Pride. Our Spaces. Happy Communities.

At Curo, we take pride in creating clean, safe places where people want to live. Our estates and communal areas are the first thing residents see when they come home – and we need people who care about making that first impression count.

This hands-on role puts you at the heart of our communities. Working as part of a two-person team, you'll travel across our estates, keeping communal areas, parks and woodlands clean and tidy.

You'll meet our residents along the way and make their surroundings cleaner and safer each day.

What you'll be doing

  • Cleaning communal areas including stairwells, entrances and shared spaces
  • Performing reactive cleaning tasks to resolve specific complaints or issues
  • Removing bulk waste items like furniture and handling fly-tipping
  • Using power tools and equipment (pressure washers, strimmers) to clear things like leaves, moss and weeds
  • Performing specialist cleaning, including carpet cleaning and hazardous waste removal
  • Carrying out minor repairs like replacing bins, door locks or installing bike racks
  • Completing 5-6 jobs daily across your assigned area

What you'll get in return

Beyond a competitive salary and the chance to make a real difference every day, you'll get:

  • 26 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) rising to 29 days after 3 years
  • Your birthday off as an extra holiday
  • Up to 10% matched pension contribution
  • Free parking at many of our locations
  • Flexible benefits which might include a Health Cash Plan
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme for your own wellbeing

More about you

Essential:

  • Experience in a customer-facing role where attention to detail matters
  • A full, clean driving license for travelling between locations
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Reliable attendance and good time management

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, gardening or similar hands-on roles
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices when using equipment
  • Basic familiarity with mobile devices (full training provided on our systems)

You'll primarily work in one of our service areas (Bath, Bristol, or Somerset), though you may occasionally support other areas. Your schedule will be provided in advance, with some flexibility to adjust start and finish times that work for your team.

We value transferable skills from various backgrounds - whether you've worked in retail, hospitality, warehousing, or other service roles, your customer service experience and practical skills could be perfect for this position.

We believe that diverse teams create better services for our diverse communities. Your unique perspective and experience will help us ensure our estates and communal areas are welcoming and accessible for everyone who calls them home.
