Caretaker

Salary: Grade 5 £17,843 to £19,340 per year
Location Bushfield Infants School, Scunthorpe
Hours: 25 hours per week
DBS: Yes Enhanced with Barred List Check

This is a permanent contract to commence September 2025

The Governing Body at Bushfield Road Infant School are looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and friendly person to the role of Caretaker for the school.
Hours: 25 hours per week
Mon – Fri  7.30am - 9.30am         2.30pm  – 5.30pm 


It would be preferable if candidates have had some previous experience of providing and maintaining an effective caretaking role within a school or other setting and must possess the skills and knowledge and personal qualities as described in the Job Description/Employee Specification.

Basic DIY and Maintenance, along with Handyperson experience is essential.


The successful candidate must demonstrate good communication skills, be enthusiastic, proactive and be able to work effectively using their own initiative, and also as part of a team which will include cleaning staff.

We are keen to appoint a dedicated person who will liaise and communicate in a friendly way with other staff members, parents and children.

Decision making will be an important part of the role in liaison with the Head Teacher and Business Manager.
