The Vacancy
Reporting to the Head of Investment Delivery and Quantity Surveyor, you will undertake a full range of quantity surveying duties to assist the delivery team on the annual investment programme. Our Investment Delivery team is driving real change, improving the quality, safety and sustainability of our homes and neighbourhoods.
What you will be doing (with support & training):
Assisting with the financial management for the annual investment programme and small projects
Supporting with project cost control, preparing monthly valuations, monitoring and reporting on variations
Supporting the delivery teams in monitoring budgets, valuations, cash flows and settlement of final accounts
Collating information for financial reports
Estimating and costing plans for new projects
Drafting contracts
Checking value for money and social values targets. Liaising directly with the internal and external stakeholders
Supporting with monitor contractors to ensure that contracts performance targets and KPI’s.
Supporting, agreeing and settling final accounts
Analysing data and producing reports
Ensuring the responsibilities of the post are carried out in a way that reflects the standards, vision and values of Great Places
Representing Great Places in a professional manner with integrity, inclusivity and respect for diversity
Reflecting on your learning and completing all apprenticeship/ qualification-related assignments and activities
What you will need:
A minimum 2:2 degree achieved in the past 3 years, ideally within a relevant subject area
GCSE maths and English or equivalent at grade C/4 or above
Curious, can-do attitude and a desire to make a difference
Commitment to completing your apprenticeship/ accredited qualification and engaging with the Growing Greatness development programme
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Keen eye for detail and good organisational skills
Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel)
A clean UK driving licence and access to a car would be desirable
Experience of working in a customer focused environment, with a proven ability of delivering customer service
Ability to work as part of a team, as well as using your own initiative and time management skills to deliver tasks on time
Commitment to understand the challenges and opportunities that exist in the communities in which we work. We particularly value lived experience in social housing
