Role purpose

We have an opportunity to join the Finance department as an Accounts Receivable Assistant at our Newcastle office. In this exciting role, you’ll be responsible for supporting and assisting the Accounts Receivable team in a wide range of financial duties to ensure the smooth running and efficiency of NorthStandard’s credit control procedures.  

What will you be doing? 

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Balance sheet reconciliation 

  • Using our in-house financial systems 

  • Monitoring and identifying incoming funds 

  • Allocation of funds  

  • Communication with debtors/ members/ brokers and policyholders  

  • Maintain and update spreadsheets.  

  • Deal with general queries. 

  • Ability to cover other colleagues’ roles as necessary and when required. 

  • To provide support to the wider operational team. 

  • Assist with any ad hoc administrative or financial tasks to ensure the smooth running of the department and to assist with service delivery. 

  • Carrying out other reasonable duties. 

About you  

Skills/Qualifications/Experience 

Essential 

  • Strong numerical skills. 

  • Working or basic knowledge of MS Office (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) 

  • IT Literate with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems. 

  • Accuracy of information and promptness of response. 

  • Efficient & effective administration skills, demonstrating an attention to detail concerning work produced. 

Desirable 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Qualified to a minimum of A level standard. 

  • At least 3 years work experience within a similar role.
