Join the Close Brothers Risk Team where you will be responsible for building, testing, implementing, and maintaining new business strategies within Close Brothers credit decisioning systems. Working as part of the Risk team our ideal team member will have previous experience in designing and implementing Credit acquisition strategy including the setting of credit and affordability strategies, policies, bureau data and credit systems with excellent coding skills, with experience using tools such as SAS, SQL, Alteryx, Business Objects or other similar data analytical tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertake analysis of Credit acquisition strategy (including affordability) to provide insight and recommendations to Credit management to improve and optimise Credit decisioning strategy
  • Build and test of new credit risk strategies, policy rules, scorecards & cut-offs, and orchestration within the various Close Brothers Powercurve credit decisioning systems
  • Support Credit Risk and Affordability projects with analysis and helping develop requirements. 
  • Scope and specify detailed requirements for changes requested to credit and orchestration strategies
  • Execute credit testing requirements and provide support & investigation for defect resolution, liaising with IT, Change and testing teams
  • Support the development of on-going BAU strategy development change control and testing governance procedures

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:

  • Experience of designing and implementing Credit acquisition strategy including the setting of credit and affordability strategies, policies, bureau data and credit systems
  • Strong knowledge of credit bureau data, systems, and related processes
  • Strong analytical mindset to be able to understand and investigate complex issues in a methodical manner
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate complex information to senior management and non-credit colleagues
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with the ability to support, coach and encourage other team members
  • Proven experience in a Credit Risk role within a Financial Services environment

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:

  • Knowledge of and hands on experience of using Experian’s Powercurve / SDS systems
  • Knowledge of FCA regulations
  • Expertise of Credit Risk Decision Systems including management of change control and governance processes
  • Understanding and / or experience of credit scorecards in a retail or commercial environment
  • Experience of consumer and commercial underwriting, credit bureau data and reports, business accounts etc.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk across the lifecycle
