Full time (37 hours per week) 

We are currently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in the Commercial Team to be responsible in assisting with all Commercial functions within our In-House Maintenance Service (IHMS), helping mitigate commercial risk and controlling expenditure. 

You will assist the Commercial Team in all areas of the IHMS and with subcontractor jobs, through from creation to financially completing, raising purchase orders, administering fleet and materials, liaising with external suppliers and contractors, assisting with cost control in the job management systems.

What you will be doing: 

  • Be an effective team member, who can evaluate performance of both in house maintenance departments and external contractors, drive continuous improvement, and maintain a culture which is health, safety, environmental, quality and customer focused. 

  • Maintaining good supplier and contractor relations regarding commercial management, ensuring documentation is up to date and accurate. 

  • Maintaining good commercial controls, systems, policies, procedures, and record keeping 

  • Assist the team in all the financial aspects of IHMS and subcontractor jobs. 

  • Contribute to budget management and control. 

  • Attending all required training, one to ones and appraisals, Embracing the opportunity for challenge, personal growth, and development. Engaging with other team members as required. 

 

We’d love to meet someone with: 

  • Minimum 1 years in a Commercial position preferably within property maintenance or similar sector. 

  • Experience of operating within tight budgetary constraints, in a fast-paced repairs and maintenance environment. 

  • Understanding of job management software preferably within Total Mobile. 

  • Knowledge of the NHF schedule of rates, and/or other cost recovery methods. 

  • Exceptional Maths and English abilities. 

  • Excellent IT and data analytical skills.
