INIS Environmental Ltd part of RSK Group is hiring for an EIAR Report Writer to join the Reporting and Environmental Consultancy team. This is a full-time permanent role based at INIS Ennis office with Hybrid working available. 

The Report Writer supports the preparation of environmental and planning reports, with a particular focus on Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), Screening Reports, and Natura Impact Statements (NIS). Working under the guidance of the Report Writer Team Lead, this role collaborates closely with ecologists, planners, and project managers to produce accurate, clear, and legally compliant reports in support of development projects.

This is an ideal role for someone with strong written communication skills, a good understanding of environmental regulations, and experience contributing to multi-disciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Report Writing

  • Prepare and edit sections of EIARs, Screening Reports, NIS, and other environmental planning documents.
  • Assist in the development of Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA),
  • Ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with internal templates and quality standards.
  • Integrate ecological data and GIS data into written reports.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Report Writer Team Lead to meet internal deadlines and project milestones.
  • Coordinate with ecologists, project managers, and other technical team members to gather and clarify content.
  • Respond to feedback and suggested revisions in a timely and professional manner.

Quality

  • Ensure reports align with current environmental legislation and best practice
  • Contribute to internal quality assurance by reviewing and proofreading documents.

Task Tracking & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of document versions, submission deadlines, and report status.
  • Use internal systems (e.g., report tracker(Jira,Excel) to monitor assigned tasks.
  • Escalate any risks or missing information that may affect timely report delivery.

Person Specification:

  • Degree or relevant qualification in ecology, zoology, environmental science, or related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in an environmental or planning consultancy or related field.
  • Experience contributing to EIARs or similar regulatory reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and comfortable using structured templates.
  • Familiarity with Irish environmental planning frameworks.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of GIS outputs or ecological datasets - desirable
  • Ornithology or bat knowledge - desirable
