This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We want you to:

To attend, assess and prepare scope of works on large loss claims, to verify scope and quantum on previously accepted claims, and to support our network surveyors and contractors.

You will also be responsible for controlling claim spend on buildings, overseeing large loss reinstatements whilst working off a task based system. Part of the role is to also provide technical support for building damage elements of claims and first stage support to the Customer Services Team for claims with FOS complaints.

Frequent travel is required and may include overnight, or extended stays.

We’ll need you to be able to:

  • Attend policy holder addresses to conduct claim assessments including validity of the claim quantum of the loss.
  • Arrange and attend site visits as and when required.
  • Evaluate customer building claims for validity and quantum using  Surveyor reports and/or other relevant information including Policy and/or Claims Handling Guidance.
  • Communicate outcomes including declines directly to the policyholder or other pre-approved person providing clear and well communicated reasons.
  • Maintain first stage support to the Trinity Customer Services teams on FOS complaints including the preparation and delivery of reports detailing the technical decision where required.
  • Identify cases with high potential for cost savings or repudiation and arrange for a Surveyor site visit.
  • Ensure inspections and reports are delivered in line with agreed SLA’s
  • Liaise with Trinity approved building contractors to review contract variation and/or to arrange interim payments and communicate where payments are declined.
  • Provide technical support within the Surveying Team on all building repairs, methodology and pathology
  • Provide subject matter expert support within the Surveying Team relating to your area of expertise as agreed with your line manager.
  • Validate customer invoices/quotations using Xactware as required and discuss the same with policyholders to ensure costs are fair and reasonable and that policy cover applies.
  • Visit large loss claims and produce an accurate report and scope of works on Xactware.
  • To undertake joint site visits with the Trinity Large Loss/Complex Claim Handlers, discuss and agree any issues or outstanding items relating to policy cover directly with the Policyholder.
  • Audit and oversight of our Surveyor Network and Contractors with Supply Chain Manager assistance. This will include auditing their current and aged claims from cradle to grave identifying any leakage from the surveyor scope and through any variations submitted by the contractor.
  • Progress and update buildings insurance claims including updating reserves, cash settlement payments, contractor instructions and closing claims as required.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to undertake any individual or team task or activity as reasonably requested in line with the company values particularly in times of surge.
  • Ensure that you fully understand and comply with the organisation’s Risk Management Policies as they relate to your area of responsibility and demonstrate in your day to day work that you put customers at the heart of everything you do;

  • Maintain the company’s compliance standards and ensure timely completion of all mandatory on-line training modules and attestations;

Experience/knowledge

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction or trade background is essential.
  • A minimum of 3 years estimating/surveying experience within insurance is highly desirable.
  • Experience of Xactware or other estimating software is desirable.
  • Detailed knowledge of HSE regulations are highly desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of the regulations relating to the financial services industry is desirable
