EL/PL Senior Claims Technician
Job Purpose
Pro Insurance currently has a new opportunity for a Senior Claims Technician to join our Complex Claims Team, processing claims in supporting an existing client.
Pro currently has UK office locations in London, Glasgow, Gloucester, Horsham and Liverpool and operates a flexible hybrid policy, the majority of this role will be working on a remote basis but will be required to travel to one of our EL/PL claims hub and other locations when required.
Purpose of Role & Responsibilities
• Reporting to the Complex Claims Manager, the Senior Claims Technician will handle a caseload of EL/PL disease claims, to include, but not limited to, the following: -
• Asbestos losses (including)
• Mesothelioma
• Lung cancer
• Asbestosis
• Pleural Thickening
• Other respiratory conditions
• Managing all diaries and post within the agreed SLAs
• Liaising with solicitors and brokers
• Developing effective business relationships internally and externally
• Maintain accurate records for auditing and regulatory purposes
• Identifying potential fraud
• Proactively support the team in their achievements and overall business objectives
• Provide technical advice and guidance to external clients
• Act as a referral point to internal colleagues providing technical guidance and advice in line with authorities, raising any issues to the Claims Manager.
• Enhance the ability of the team to perform through contribution to structured training plans, undertaking QA/QC and providing regular coaching and feedback to the team
• Contribute to projects relevant to the sub vertical
• Strengthen Client Relationships
• Represent Pro in a Professional manner to both peer and potential marketplace acquaintances
Skills and Experience
• Strong Technical background relating to EL/PL disease claims, including handling asbestos losses. Experience in other claims is a distinct advantage.
• Excellent Policy interpretation skills
• Effective communication skills and key stakeholder relationship management skills
• Knowledge of claims handling, fraud and impacting legislation
• Adaptable to change
• Strong relationship building skills and a professional and approachable manner
• Ability to work towards Service Level Agreements with accuracy
• Previous experience coaching and mentoring team members
