An opportunity has arisen for a highly disciplined Junior GIS Specialist to join our growing team in Dubai, supporting a diverse portfolio of environmental and planning consultancy projects across the Middle East.

The successful candidate will assist the GIS team with spatial data processing in various file types and layouts, among other duties. This role is well-suited to an early-career professional, who is eager to take ownership of tasks, think critically and contribute confidently in a professional, fast-paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the GIS team with basic data processing, such as importing, cleaning and organizing spatial data.
  • Perform georeferencing and digitization.
  • Convert files from CAD, KMZ or other formats to GIS.
  • Perform background research and data gathering to support GIS mapping and project needs.
  • Discover patterns and trends through spatial analysis.
  • Create cartographic maps considering basic layout elements.
  • Maintain an organized file structure and assist with data management.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand project needs and deliver timely, accurate outputs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Geography, Science or related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant GIS experience.
  • Good understanding of GIS concepts and spatial data handling.
  • Experience in ArcGIS Desktop Suite (ArcGIS Online and PRO is a plus).
  • Robust time management skills.
  • Experience of working on multiple assignments, simultaneously.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Fluent English speaker.

  • Has an interest in environmental work and wants to grow within a consultancy setting.
