OVERALL SUMMARY

The Head of Bespoke Investment Risk and Analytics will lead a team dedicated to comprehensive risk management and analytics within our Bespoke Investment division. A principal function of this role is to maintain a rigorous risk governance framework, challenging our Bespoke Investment Managers where necessary. This role involves driving strategic initiatives and improvements, fostering business engagement, ensuring operational excellence and resilience, and managing a high-performing team. Responsibilities include developing the risk reporting processes, providing quantitative and qualitative risk governance frameworks, and supporting the monitoring of Bespoke Investment portfolios. This role will oversee the delivery of advanced risk analysis and innovative solutions, promote a culture of risk awareness, and ensure adherence to regulatory compliance and internal policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Bespoke Investment Governance

  • Manage 1st line Bespoke Investment risk oversight and governance, including chairing formal governance committees, including the (Bespoke Governance Review) BGR
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Bespoke Investment risk framework and Bespoke Investment related risk policy framework aligned with company guidelines and regulatory expectations.
  • Actively collaborate with Compliance, Investment Risk and Performance teams to support Bespoke Investment Management governance documentation and process improvements.
  • Challenge Bespoke Investment Managers where risk parameters are breached providing detailed and clear commentary for internal review, while also setting out a plan that targets risk realignment, actionable by the Bespoke Investment Manager.

Business Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing expert advice on investment risk, risk modelling and quantitative analysis.
  • Support strategic projects including but not being limited to the review of our Bespoke Investment Management Review process.

Strategic Development

  • Lead strategic planning for the Bespoke Investment Risk & Analytics Team, identifying and implementing innovative solutions to improve risk reporting and management information processes.
  • Optimise advanced risk analysis tooling and methodologies though the use of efficiently implemented and properly governed and maintain tools and / product.
  • Contribute to shaping investment strategies and product structures, staying updated on industry trends and continuously recommending improvements. 

Operational Excellence and Resilience

 

  • Ensure smooth operation of investment risk reporting and management information processes, monitoring the performance and risk of holdings, core funds, and portfolios.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and effective risk management, delivering accurate and timely risk metrics, reports, and dashboards, and enhancing tools for exposure analysis, VaR, scenario analysis, and stress testing.

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of investment risk analysts, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Manage team workload and ensure deadlines are met, acting as a trusted advisor to investment teams by translating complex risk data into actionable insights and presenting key findings to senior management.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferable.
  • Professional qualifications such as CFA or FRM are highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in investment risk and analytics.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Excel and other coding skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
