Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrician. The candidate will be partially based in the office (location to be agreed following appointment) and partially on site, and will report directly to the Senior Asset Planning Engineer in the Asset Planning Maintenance Team. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Senior Asset Planning Engineer for the prioritisation and identification of critical electrical needs.
  • Review Periodic inspection reports and other electrical reports to identify the key risks to personal on site and equipment.
  • Work closely with Operational and Health & Safety teams to develop mitigation requirements on electrical risks.
  • Review remediation works undertaken by delivery partners.
  • Attend Working Group on Electrical issues where required. 
  • Play a key role in stakeholder management with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support in managing the risks associated with Electrical Systems.
  • Support to ensure legal compliance with Electrical regulation.
  • Support in enhancing its electrical systems strategy.
  • Performing other such duties in relation to work and asset management as required.

Key Requirements:

  • Electrician with QQI advanced level 6 Electrical trade certificate and have been or currently are a Registered Electrical Contractor (REC)
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in working with electrical systems.
  • Expert knowledge of Electrical Safety Rules from IEC and EN Standards in accordance with Part 3 of the 2007 Safety Health & Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations and other relevant legislation.
  • Desirable to have knowledge of CompEx (meaning Competency working in Explosive atmospheres) with respect to electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of water/waste or relevant industrial sites.
  • Clean driver license and ability to travel nationally

  • Proven track record in dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion, along with the ability to communicate complex information to others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
