Geocore part of the RSK Group have an exciting new opportunity for a Lead Driller to join their team. Although based in Redcar, UK other locations in the North of England will be considered as the work is site based UK wide and will involve working away from home Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Acting as a Lead Driller primarily for rotary. Geothermal drilling experience would be advantageous.
  • Adhere to best working practices and industry standards, training and guidance will be provided.
  • Adhere to working instructions as specified internally from engineers and drilling supervisors.
  • Provide paperwork, namely drillers logs and equipment inspection sheets and on a daily to weekly basis.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of drilling equipment at job sites
  • Ensure drilling sites are clean and safe during and after operations
  • Assist in the collection, labelling and logging of soil and rock samples
  • Oversee the maintenance, repairs and inventory of department plant, equipment and tools
  • Communicate effectively with internal parties to ensure smooth operations
  • Perform additional tasks as reasonably expected within your level of capability to meet the company’s evolving needs.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Full UK driving license
  • Current CSCS card and NVQ Level 2 in Land Drilling is essential
  • Post holder will be expected to attend and pass internal and industry recognized external training courses.
  • Maintenance of ground investigation plant, equipment and tools
  • Familiar with conventional coring systems
  • Competent at operating varying rig types of rig, (Primarily Comacchio)
