Clarke is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our Engineering team and take ownership of structural design across a wide range of telecom infrastructure projects. This is a critical technical role for someone with deep structural engineering expertise, telecoms experience, and a proactive mindset.
The Role
As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for the structural adequacy of telecom site designs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and delivering high-quality engineering outputs. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to produce cost-effective, safe, and buildable solutions.
The role can be carried out remotely, or from office locations in Manchester, Glasgow or Redhill.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the structural design process from feasibility to build-ready documentation.
Produce and sign off Planning Drawings, Detailed Designs, and structural calculations.
Conduct feasibility and design surveys, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Liaise with clients, site providers, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, CDM 2015, and Health & Safety standards.
Manage internal and external CAD quality and feedback.
Maintain project documentation including Design Risk Assessments.
Support cost-saving initiatives through material reuse and efficient design.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Experience designing structural components for telecom site deployment.
Strong CAD quality assurance skills.
Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and remote collaboration.
Knowledge of CDM 2015 and Health & Safety regulations.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills.
Desirable:
Qualifications in structural design.
Experience in fast-paced, high-demand environments.
Commercial awareness and ability to conduct cost-benefit analysis.
