Clarke is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our Engineering team and take ownership of structural design across a wide range of telecom infrastructure projects. This is a critical technical role for someone with deep structural engineering expertise, telecoms experience, and a proactive mindset.


The Role

As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for the structural adequacy of telecom site designs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and delivering high-quality engineering outputs. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to produce cost-effective, safe, and buildable solutions.

The role can be carried out remotely, or from office locations in Manchester, Glasgow or Redhill.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the structural design process from feasibility to build-ready documentation.
  • Produce and sign off Planning Drawings, Detailed Designs, and structural calculations.
  • Conduct feasibility and design surveys, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Liaise with clients, site providers, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, CDM 2015, and Health & Safety standards.
  • Manage internal and external CAD quality and feedback.
  • Maintain project documentation including Design Risk Assessments.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives through material reuse and efficient design.

 

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience designing structural components for telecom site deployment.
  • Strong CAD quality assurance skills.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and remote collaboration.
  • Knowledge of CDM 2015 and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills.

 

Desirable:

  • Qualifications in structural design.
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-demand environments.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to conduct cost-benefit analysis.
