Silcock Leedham, a leading building services engineering consultancy and part of the RSK Group, is expanding into the South - and we are seeking an experienced, commercially minded Regional Director to lead our new office and drive the next phase of our growth.

This is a senior leadership role with genuine influence, combining strategic direction, technical oversight, operational management, and business development.

About the Role

As Regional Director, you will provide leadership across the South West region, acting as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. You will define the strategic direction of the new office, oversee project delivery and technical excellence, and build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and the wider RSK network.

You will play a central role in growing the business — identifying opportunities, winning work, and delivering high‑quality engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Shape and implement the regional business strategy in line with group growth plans.
  • Identify new opportunities, develop client relationships, and secure new and repeat work.
  • Lead fee proposals, bids, commercial negotiations, and contract management.
  • Monitor performance against budgets, oversee financial reporting, and ensure commercial success of regional operations.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide expert input into Mechanical or Electrical building services design.
  • Support early‑stage concept design, energy strategies, and infrastructure considerations.
  • Guide and review design work, ensuring high technical standards across all project stages.
  • Oversee quality assurance, SHEQ compliance, and technical reviews.

Project Delivery

  • Ensure projects are well‑resourced, properly coordinated, and delivered on time and within scope.
  • Support teams with design queries, attend client and design meetings, and contribute to project governance.
  • Review design information, contribute to planning applications, and supervise surveys and inspections.

People & Team Development

  • Build and manage a high-performing team of engineers as the regional office grows.
  • Oversee recruitment, resourcing, performance reviews, and staff development.
  • Foster a supportive, collaborative environment that promotes progression, innovation, and technical excellence.
  • Act as a role model and ambassador for Silcock Leedham and the RSK culture.

Health, Safety & Quality

  • Champion a positive health and safety culture, ensuring all work aligns with SLCE/RSK SHEQ policies.
  • Ensure clients understand their duties under CDM.
  • Lead by example in reporting, investigating, and closing out SHEQ actions.

About You

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical competence with proven leadership and commercial acumen.

You will bring:

  • Degree qualification in Mechanical or Electrical building services.
  • Chartered Engineer status, or active progression toward Chartership.
  • Significant experience delivering building services designs and leading teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to win work and manage financial performance.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire colleagues and build trust with clients.
  • A proactive, innovative approach with the confidence to shape a new regional presence.

Experience with AutoCAD, Hevacomp/IES, Dialux/Relux, and Amtech is beneficial. Knowledge of Revit MEP is preferred.

Why Join Silcock Leedham?

  • Lead the establishment and growth of a brand‑new regional office.
  • Be part of a supportive senior leadership group within an expanding national business.
  • Opportunity to shape strategy, influence decision‑making, and directly contribute to company-wide growth.
  • Access to the broader RSK network, expertise, and professional development pathways.
  • A culture that values collaboration, innovation, and continual improvement
