We’re looking for a skilled and customer‑focused Property Surveyor to join our team and help us deliver safe, high‑quality homes across our communities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, working directly with customers, and taking ownership of a varied caseload that makes a real impact on residents’ day‑to‑day experience.

As a Property Surveyor, you’ll use your technical knowledge and practical approach to diagnose building issues, manage repairs and disrepair cases, and work closely with colleagues, contractors and partners to ensure work is delivered efficiently, safely and to a high standard.

What you’ll be doing

  • Carrying out inspections and surveys to diagnose building defects, damp and mould, disrepair issues and complex repairs.
  • Preparing clear technical reports, specifications and schedules of work to support accurate budgeting and delivery.
  • Managing disrepair cases, insurance claims and major/minor works to agreed timescales and quality standards.
  • Working closely with contractors, colleagues and external specialists to monitor performance and ensure high‑quality outcomes.
  • Keeping customers informed, resolving issues promptly and ensuring a positive, professional experience.
  • Ensuring all work complies with relevant health & safety and regulatory requirements.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong technical knowledge of building construction, maintenance and defect diagnosis.
  • Experience carrying out inspections, preparing technical reports and managing complex repair cases.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to work well with customers, contractors and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage a busy caseload and prioritise effectively.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and property‑related systems.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
  • Desirable: HNC or equivalent, trade background, CSTDB/CSRT, RICS/CIOB membership.

Why this role matters

You’ll be supporting safe, well‑maintained homes and helping us deliver an excellent customer experience by ensuring repairs and major works are done right first time. Your insight and decision‑making will contribute to improved asset management, better value for money, and a more reliable service for our residents.

If you’re technically competent, customer‑focused and enjoy working across teams to solve problems and improve homes, we’d love to hear from you.
