The Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) is a leading professional body representing more than 25,000 school and college leaders across the UK.  Due to membership growth, we are now looking for a Field Officer to join our regional teams.

The post of Field Officer is a vital and fulfilling role, where you will make a lasting difference to the lives of the members you are assigned to support. Reporting to a Regional Officer, you will be given bespoke training to allow you to become a highly effective advocate for school leaders.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who brings credibility, empathy, and insight—someone who has walked in the shoes of our members.

 

This is a role that requires up-to-date knowledge and experience of the issues facing the senior leadership teams of schools and colleges and the ability to deal with individuals at a senior level. Therefore, you should have held a senior leadership position within schools or colleges within the last two years. Business/HR Leaders with extensive schools and employment rights experience, or leaders at or above deputy headteacher level or equivalent, will be best suited to this post.

What You’ll Be Doing

For this post the post-holder must live within easy access of the region that they serve. The post-holder will work predominantly from home, with occasional travel within the region to meet with members and employers. There will be regular contact with, and visits to, ASCL HQ in Leicester plus regular professional development sessions. IT and telephone equipment will be provided.
