Our two-year EVOLVE graduate programme develops and supports the next generation of Built Environment professionals.  As a Graduate Fire Engineer at Ridge you will benefit from on job learning experiences whilst working on prestigious projects. Ridge’s fire consultancy works throughout the building lifecycle, from design to in-occupation services.  

What sort of things will I be involved in?

  • Support with preparing fire strategy reports and working closely with stakeholders throughout the design process.
  • Assisting clients with meeting requirements under relevant legislation, including the Building Safety Act 2022, relevant secondary legislation, the Building Regulations 2010 (as amended) and the Fire Safety Order (as amended).
  • Supporting Fire Engineers with carrying out analysis of fire risk and providing guidance on suitable control measures.
  • Working across a range of buildings and sectors, on different fire safety challenges and issues.
  • Taking particulars on site and working with others to write up schedules of works required, prepare specifications, obtain estimates, plan programmes of work, monitor progress of works on site, checking compliance with the specification.
  • Provide a practical and methodical approach to solving problems, working to fixed budgets and working within tight deadlines.
  • Learn to provide advice in connection with applications for Building Regulations Approval on Fire Related matters.

  • I have or am predicted a 2:1 bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering 
  • I am available to start work full-time from 5 October 2026
