Housing Support Assistant

One YMCA is looking for a compassionate, organised, and proactive Hostel Support & Administration Assistant to join our Supported Housing team. Based within a 40-bed temporary accommodation hostel, you will support residents with a range of complex needs while helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the service.

Based within a 40-bed temporary accommodation hostel, you will support residents with a range of complex needs while helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the service.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide a welcoming and professional front-of-house service.
• Carry out resident welfare checks and offer practical support.
• Assist residents with correspondence, benefit applications, and accessing services.
• Provide administrative support, maintain accurate records, and update case notes.
• Welcome and coordinate visiting professionals, agencies, and contractors.
• Help maintain a safe, secure, and supportive hostel environment.
• Work closely with the Complex Needs Worker and wider team to support positive outcomes for residents.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A caring and professional approach to supporting vulnerable people.
• Strong administration and IT skills.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• An understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and professional boundaries.

Working Pattern: 12hrs shift on Sat & Sun and 8hrs shift Monday (alternating 8am-4pm and 12pm-8pm for Monday shift
