Caretaking Supervisor

This is a Fixed Term, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We’re looking for a proactive and organised Caretaking Supervisor to join our team at Village 135 Extra Care scheme on a fixed term contract ending 27 June 2027. This role is key to ensuring our schemes remain clean, safe and well‑maintained, supporting a positive environment where residents can live independently and comfortably.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leading a team, working in a hands‑on environment and delivering high standards of service that make a visible difference to our communities.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Supervising and supporting the caretaking team to deliver high‑quality cleaning, grounds and communal area services.
  • Planning and coordinating daily work activities to ensure efficient and consistent service delivery.
  • Monitoring standards across the scheme, carrying out inspections and taking action to address any issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, reporting hazards and promoting safe working practices.
  • Liaising with contractors and colleagues to coordinate works and maintain the overall appearance and condition of the scheme.
  • Managing equipment, materials and stock, ensuring they are used effectively and maintained appropriately.
  • Responding to resident enquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in a caretaking, facilities or estates environment, ideally with supervisory responsibility.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and support a team to deliver consistent, high standards.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan workloads and manage priorities.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements in a caretaking or facilities setting.
  • Strong communication skills, with a customer‑focused and approachable manner.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
  • Reliable, proactive and solution‑focused approach to work.

 

Additional information

  • The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check due to the nature of the role and working environment.
