This role is ideal for someone looking to begin their career and make a meaningful contribution to safe and effective working practices. 

As a SHEQ Apprentice, you will support the delivery and continuous improvement of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality processes across the organisation. You will work alongside experienced colleagues to help ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements while maintaining high standards of safety and operational performance. The role will involve assisting with audits, inspections, reporting and documentation, as well as supporting the implementation of procedures and improvement initiatives. This is a varied position that will give you exposure to different areas of the business, providing a strong foundation in SHEQ principles and practices. 

This role is predominantly site and office based, where you will spend a significant amount of time visiting active construction sites across our various locations, gaining valuable hands-on experience. A company van will be provided to support travel as part of your role. 

You will be enrolled on a Level 3 Health & Safety Technician Apprenticeship with a local training provider. This programme involves one day per week of off-the-job learning towards your apprenticeship qualification, alongside four days of on-the-job training where you will develop your skills and experience in the role.

What We’re Looking For: 

  • An interest in safety, health, environment and quality  

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills  

  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn  

  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office  

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team  

Qualifications: 

  • Grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths and English OR Level 2 Foundational skills in English and Maths OR the understanding you will need to complete a Level 2 Foundational Skills qualification in English and Maths alongside the apprenticeship  

  • Full UK driving licence
